A severe case of HSTs

It's a long holiday weekend, we are taking it easy and I got some time to sew. I made great progress on my HST sampler quilt, the top is done!

This will probably be a charity quilt.  At the end of June, my son's school will have a raffle at their annual summer party, and I promised to donate a quilt. All the money generated from this raffle will go to a school in Peru. I'm writing that this will probably be my donation because I also have another top in the works and haven't decided which one to donate yet. We'll see, maybe it will be both if I manage to finish them in time.

I have no idea how to quilt this one yet, hopefully inspiration strikes soon...

Wishing everyone a nice long weekend!

Blogger's Quilt Festival: Last Minute

Better late to the party than never, right? I tried to write this post for a whole week now, but somehow life and work took over. So without further ado, here's my entry in the Large Quilt category:

It's the Kerstin Medallion Quilt!

You might think it a bit pretentious to name a quilt after myself, but since I did not follow any pattern and added border after border just like my whim struck, I think I'm justified...

I finished it late last year, and it has been living on our bed ever since. It's the biggest quilt I ever made, and I just love everything about it.

The back is a mix of Botanics prints and IKEA fabric.

Quilt statistics:

pattern by: me
fabric: Botanics by Carolyn Friedlander
quilted with Aurifil 40 wt, light blue (forgot the number...)
size: 2,30 m x 2,30 m
