Come on in: Studio Tour

I finally managed to clean up the sewing/guest room and can show it here. So welcome to my new creative space!

View from the door
It's no very much smaller than my old space, about 12 square meters. But since we have a bedroom less in the new apartment, guests now have to sleep between boxes of fabric.

For storage, I switched from IKEA Ivar to Kallax. I like the white against the hardwood floors, and so far, I manage to find a spot for all the fabric.

I still need a bit of decoration/inspiration around the sewing area. I'm kind of hoping I get a miniquilt in the ongoing Swappen (German speaking swap on flickr) to hang above the Kona Color card. And of course it would be cool to have a wall that's completely covered in embroidery hoops...

Obviously, the double quilt is all wrong for the single bed. If I ever finish the Kona Improv quilt that's still hanging untouched on the design wall, it'll live on that bed. Someday...

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse in my creative world! Happy Wednesday!

  1. Hi Kerstin! Thank you for inviting us to your beautiful sewing room! It looks lightful and you have everything well in order so I'm sure you love to sew there! Quilt on the bed is fantastic and I love also the 'colour burst' on the design wall! x Teje

  2. Ein tolles Kreativzimmer. Ich finde, der Quilt auf dem Bett wirkt inspirierend. Egal, ob er zu breit oder zu kurz oder was auch immer ist. Ein sehr schönes Zimmer.

  3. Oh my! Your studio is absolutely delightful! I love how everything seems to be arranged according to their color. That wall piece with the gorgeous colors has to be my favorite decor though. You have such amazing creations. Thank you for that tour. More power to you and your craft!
