The first cut is the hardest...

Last December, I was the luckiest quilter ever. Because Lynne from Lily's Quilts hosted a giveaway on her blog and I won. An Oakshott Cotton Colorbox. I think I was walking on quilted clouds that day. Through this giveaway, I also found out that tracking of stuff that's supposed to come your way is horrible! The very kind people from Oakshott shipped it on the very same day, and it arrived the next in Cologne. Where it was stuck in customs for days! Finally, on Christmas' Eve, it was supposed to be delivered. I was sitting at home on hot coals and the FedEx guy did not show up! So I finally left the house because I still had to get to the butcher to buy the meat for Christmas dinner. And sure enough, as I was walking down my street, guess who came driving up? FedEx. Since I was already two blocks away from my house, I started jumping up and down and tried to flag the driver down. He got the message in the end, but you should have seen the look on his face. So since Christmas, the FedEx guy officially thinks I'm crazy. Oh well, I can live with that...

The bigger question was, what to do with it? I did not want to cut into it randomly, it had to be for a special project. And I guess I found it!

So thank you, Lynne and Oakshott, for keeping me busy the next few month...

PS: I already made my first block, but I can't show you yet since I'm taking part in a German FWQAL and blog hop that's kicking off on June 17th. My turn will be on July 1st, so check back later please!
