One year! (and a giveaway)

Happy anniversary to myself! Today marks exactly one year of blogging for me. Little did I know how great it would turn out to be to just write about my creative stuff. I met so many nice people through this little space, made new friends, was motivated to keep on sewing, ... the list goes on and on.

And to say thank you to all of you who drop in here and read what I'm babbling about, I'm having a little giveaway. I'm giving away this little bundle:

Yep, that's right, a layer cake of Terrain. And since I hate giveaways where you have to jump through a hundred hoops to even enter, I make it simple. Just leave me a comment and tell me what you would do with this layer cake. (But that doesn't mean I'd love for you to become a follower if you haven't already!).  I'll leave comments open for a week and will draw a winner next Monday, January 30th. The giveaway is now closed, thanks to everyone who left a comment!

  2. Congratulations on your first blogversay! Looking forward to many more years of reading.

Add some Kona white or snow to that Terrain and I'd have a fabulous looking quilt hopefully with enough scraps left over to make a matching pillow. :D

  12. Happy Anniversary. After a month, or so, of simply fondling this scrumptious layer cake, I would make a cathedral window quilt. Those colors just scream to me to be one of those quilts. Oh, yeah and a pillow.

  13. Well, first of all I haven't really ever entered something, but these cool/modern colors are a draw... I would leave them big, border them with a solid neutral, and make it a modern quilt, about three rows worth to one side. A large throw size. If there are some left over, maybe make something smaller as well.... Thanks for the possibility...

  33. You are awfully kind! I didn't do a give-away until I'd been blogging for four years. ;)

I would use the layer cake to make my mom's iPad and iPhone cover she's been asking for. I think she'd really appreciate having some nice colors to it. Then I'd probably use the rest to make matching purses and doll quilts for my little girl and my niece. I think they'd both really like that! Thanks for letting me play along! :)

  55. i am wanting to make a single chain quilt. I am not really sure about if that is the correct name it is a very simple nine patch block with a white border and prints in the corners of the border. I enjoyed looking through your finished quilts for 2011 . my favorite quilt was the crosses. I have also been wanting to try this pattern. perhaps this layer cake would also work for that. I have been enticed with Kate's fabric but do not have any in my stash yet. Yeah for you for a year of blogging. This is my first time visiting your site. :) janita
